Dear Members and Friends,
With the GGBA looking forward to its 40th anniversary in 2014, the Board determined that it was important for the chamber to hire a new staff person with a shared vision for our LGBT & Allied business community and the energy and experience to fulfill that vision. After much consideration, the Board of Directors is pleased to announce that we have selected Jason Holstein to serve as the GGBA’s Managing Director, effective July 1.
As the former Corporate Development Director for the Metropolitan Business Association of Orlando, Central Florida’s LGBT Chamber of Commerce, Holstein increased membership, developed new programs, brought new benefits to the organization’s members, and implemented a local LGBT supplier diversity initiative to certify LGBT business owners. These efforts resulted in MBA Orlando receiving the 2012 Rising Star Chamber Award by the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce.
For his work with the LGBT business community, Jason was recognized as an Emerging LGBT Leader by the White House Office of Public Engagement.
We are excited by the experience Jason has, specifically with membership development, marketing, and supplier diversity, and we believe he will play a key role in the chamber’s further development and expansion. The Board of Directors believed it was critical to hire someone whose experience included working with LGBT chambers of commerce.
Thank you to our volunteer Board of Directors who have played a critical role in delivering member services and planning events this past year while we worked to fill this vacancy. We look forward to collaborating with our new managing director to lay out a strategic plan that ensures the continued success of the GGBA and our members.
We hope you will join the Board of Directors in welcoming Jason to the Bay Area and our chamber. We look forward to introducing him to you at the July Make Contact Mixer.
Thank you for your continued membership in the GGBA.
